EDKUB, founded in 2018 by Swiss composer-producer and bass player Fred Sumi, bridges Cuban and electronic music. Since his first visit to Cuba in 1995, Sumi has been passionate about Cuban music, particularly timba. EDKUB arose from his love for Cuban grooves, blending them with warm electronic sounds. It involves collaboration with Cuban musicians like Marbis Manzanet, the Sotomayor brothers, Roicel Riveron, Duniesky Barreto, Maykel Garcia Gonzalez, and Eduardo Bringuez Ayarde. Together, they create a unique fusion, intertwining Cuban rhythms with contemporary electronic elements, offering a captivating musical experience.
